 MEMORY VERSE:   Matthew 16:24
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

THOUGHT TO REMEMBER
Cross bearing means we must be willing to suffer for our faith in Christ. How much are you willing to suffer for your faith?

LENTEN FOCUS

THE ENDLESS FORGIVNESS                              Alvin Rogness

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Matthew 18:21-22 (NIV)

God does not stop forgiving. We may stop asking God for forgiveness, or we may refuse to accept his forgiveness, but God never stops forgiving. Until the end of our lives, God’s door is open for us to come. Sometimes a mother’s love is like that. No matter how many times her son has sinned, she always takes him back and never stops forgiving.

Many of us don’t have too hard a time forgiving someone the first time they let us down or harm us. But, how about a second, third, or even twentieth time? Are we able to keep on forgiving? The Bible says we must try. Because we are to forgive as God forgives, and his forgiveness is endless.

Suppose God should grow tired and stop forgiving us. He could well grow tired. How often do we not offend him? How often do we not go against his will and displease him? Every day we must come back to God to be forgiven all over again. How wonderful if we, like God, can keep on loving someone, no matter how often he has hurt us or sinned against us?

Something to Think About

MEANING BEYOND WORDS

… because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction.
1 Thessalonians 1:5a (NIV)

When we are listening to someone, we pick up subtle cues from inflections of voice, facial expressions, and bodily language that convey meanings along with the words we hear. And familiarity with another’s way of life adds a further dimension to how we interpret what he says.

It is for this reason that any distinction between word and deed is artificial when we are communicating the good news-the gospel. How good this news may be to those who hear it depends to a great extent upon how good the news is to those of us who tell it.

Our certainty as to its truth, our openness to its power, our sensitivity to the nuances of the Spirit among us; these come across when we speak of God’s love. The variety represented in our individual experiences in Christ lends a richness and diversity to the message through which others hear and believe. Each of us is a unique communicator for Christ.

REACHING OUT  TO  OTHERS

From the Pastor’s heart;

Don’t forget to use this time to reach out to others. Spend some time each day calling members on the telephone and offering to pray with them.

                                                                                                                                                       Pastor   Fullwood

Pastors Requests
Remember II Chronicles 7:14. “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land.”

While we wait on God’s healing grace, let us fast and pray for His visitation. Pray for God to intervene and bring an end to this virus that we are facing. Pray for God to calm our spirits and help us to trust Him.

Pray for the lost to be saved. Pray for the unrighteous to turn to God. Pray for God to be glorified in the crisis we are going through. Pray in faith; pray with the confidence that God will hear and answer our prayers.
