 MEMORY VERSE:      Luke 4:18-19

The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.

 THOUGHT TO REMEMBER

Jesus came to this world to set people free from the bondage of sin. He died on the cross to accomplish His mission. What are you doing to participate in Christ’s mission to the world?

Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James, son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him. Matthew 4:21-22 (NIV)

Jesus called James and John to be full-time disciples. Not many of us can leave our work the way they did. We cannot all be pastors. In fact, Jesus does not call everyone to full-time service.

Many of us are like Zebedee, who stayed with his nets. What can we do? We can still be profitable servants of God. We can still be witnesses to His love. We can encourage others in their calling to full-time service. We can help our pastors instead of obstructing their work.

We can offer our prayers for our pastors and for all leaders of the church. In the midst of this part-time labor for the Lord, the time may even come when we are called to more extensive service in God’s work. Maybe we too can fish for people.

From the Pastor’s heart;

Don’t forget to use this time to reach out to others. Spend some time each day calling members on the telephone and offering to pray with them.

Pastors Requests
Remember II Chronicles 7:14. “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land.”

While we wait on God’s healing grace, let us fast and pray for His visitation. Pray for God to intervene and bring an end to this virus that we are facing. Pray for God to calm our spirits and help us to trust Him.

Pray for the lost to be saved. Pray for the unrighteous to turn to God. Pray for God to be glorified in the crisis we are going through. Pray in faith; pray with the confidence that God will hear and answer our prayers.
