Comfort Ministry

The Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

The Grief Ministry name has changed to Comfort Ministry. To kick-off the renaming of the ministry we would like to spotlight a book by Dr. David Jeremiah – When Your World Falls Apart-Seeing Past the Pain of the Present.

I have a limited number of books available for those who would like a copy of this book. There is a sheet outside of the office. If you have any questions, you can contact Andrea Jones 773-576-5528

Health and Wellness Event 2024

The Health and Wellness Ministry is in partnership with a non-for-Profit organization called “Call for Caring”. The mission of this organization is to provide support for families that have taken on the role of caregiving. Our Ministry along with Eta Phi Sorority (National Black Nurses Association are working together to bring Family Caregiver Expo to Chicago.

The Health and Wellness committee is asking for persons who would be interested in helping the ministry with this project. This would include some participation with our meetings for the event and helping with specific tasks, such as making phone calls etc. Also there will be opportunities for individuals to volunteer during the 1-day expo.

Lastly, the most important request is prayers for guidance and discernment as we are planning this event.

For those who would be interested contact Loretta Hudgins or Belinda Hamer                                                                                                                  Health and Wellness Ministry

The Nursing Home Ministry

The nursing home ministry is seeking to find out if there is any interest in re-starting the visitation to the nursing home on Halsted. We are in the early stages of planning, however we need a count of who is interested in going to visit the nursing home once a month. Therefore, we have placed a sign up sheet on the counter outside of the Secretary’s office. Please sign up if you would be interested in re-starting this ministry.
